Chante-Perdrix Saint-Joseph

Chante-Perdrix Saint-Joseph

Dark, ripe and loaded with pepper, spice and blueberry fruit, this wine will stand up to its more illustrious neighbors regardless of their price. The domain Chante-Perdrix was created by Stephen Pécoul in 1896. Today Frédéric and Guy Nicolet (third and fourth generations) operate the 18 acres around the property. Year after year, production is 550 hectoliters in red and 40 hectoliters in white. The vines with an average age of 45 years are in the area south of the appellation on pebbles by the Rhone. A high percentage of Grenache (80%) fermented with the syrah, mourvedre and Muscardin gives powerful wines with an intense ruby color.
